Advantages of breastfeeding
1.Maternal-infant bonding is estaablished early when cuddled at breastfeeding.Babies also feel loved, secured than bottled fed which can be given by any other person besides the mother.
2.It reduces the risk of hypocalcaemia (deficiency of blood calcium) and milk allergy which may in artificial feeding.
3.It aids involution
4.It is almost germ free
5.It is always fresh and at correct temperature
6.It is economical, causes less work , require no modification as in cows milk meant to feed cows.No bottles,pans and heating are required.
7.Believed to delay the return of ovulation and may give longer period of infertility(Though this not very reliable)
8.It contains antibodies ,anti-viral preparation and vitamins.It is believed that lactoferrin in the breast milk has a bacteriostatic effect on E-coli
